A Photobeam Safety Sensor (also called IR beam sensor / photocell) is a critical safety device used in automatic gates, boom barriers, rolling shutters, and garage doors.
A photobeam sensor consists of two units:
Transmitter (TX) → sends an invisible infrared beam
Receiver (RX) → receives the beam
When something blocks the beam, the system sends a signal to stop or reverse the gate/door.
👉 It works using infrared light, which is invisible but safe for humans
