What is a Polycarbonate Transparent Rolling Shutter?
A polycarbonate transparent rolling shutter (also called a clear / see-through roller shutter) has slats or panels made primarily from high-quality polycarbonate instead of opaque metal. These transparent slats are usually reinforced (e.g. with steel or aluminum tubes) and interlocked, forming a rolling curtain that lets light and visibility through while still offering security.
Because polycarbonate is a strong, impact-resistant thermoplastic with good optical clarity and structural stability, it can perform many of the functions of glass (visibility, light transmission) while offering much better durability and security.
A useful way to think of it: “as clear as glass, as strong as steel.”
